Why would you pay more for good coffee?

You're not paying for the packaging. You're paying for what's inside.
At the supermarket, you buy coffee for a few euros. With us, you pay €16.95 for 250 grams. That difference is real. But it comes from somewhere. And you taste it.
A farmer with a name
Many coffee packs show a country, or a name that doesn't say much. Supermarket coffee is often a blend of beans from hundreds of farms, ending up in that pack via various middlemen.
With us, you know exactly where your coffee comes from. Somewhere Soft comes from Finca los Naranjos, a 1.3-hectare plot high in the mountains of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Don Pedro Lopez Mendez (82) and his wife grow the beans there. Don Pedro monitors the fermentation himself, for 25 to 32 hours. He doesn't watch the clock — he trusts his instinct and years of experience. That's where that round chocolate flavour comes from.

Direct, without detours
We work with direct trade. That means we buy directly from the farmer or cooperative, without middlemen. It's transparent and fair. For the farmer, and for you.
Small is a choice
In Colombia, around 500,000 small coffee farmers work the land. Most have less than three hectares. Small-scale means: picking cherries by hand, one by one, row by row. Less volume, more care. You taste that care in Miles Away: chocolate, almond and a fresh hint of lemon.

Back to where it began
Coffee originally comes from Ethiopia. There, it is still much more than a drink today. "For us, coffee is not a drink. It is a ceremony," says Tigist (42) from Addis Ababa. She roasts the green beans over charcoal, grinds them by hand and serves the coffee in three rounds. "There is no rush during a coffee ceremony. And that is precisely the point."
Our Gently Untied comes from a cooperative that farms entirely organically. Together, the farmers produce around 35,000 tonnes of organic coffee. In your cup, you taste creamy caramel, chocolate and a fruity touch. It's coffee to drink slowly, just as they intended in Ethiopia.

Organically grown
Our single origins grow without synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Good for the soil, for the people who live and work there, and for you.
A careful selection
We don't sell a hundred varieties. We sell a handful, carefully chosen. Each coffee has its own character and a story that holds up. So you don't need to hesitate.
So: is it worth those few extra euros?
María (62) has worked on a coffee finca in Salento, Colombia for over twenty years. She puts it this way: "For us, coffee is not a habit. It is a way to start the day with intention."
Is your coffee also more than a habit? Then you'll taste the difference. Every morning, again.
